ABOUT SUSANNE & PEDELEC ADVENTURES
Pedelec Adventures is my personal brand, created in 2011 to travel the world on electric bikes and share eye-opening experiences with a global audience — as an inspiration to discover new horizons: the very personal ones, and those of our planet.
With a strong pioneer spirit, I started communicating new mobility within an international network in 1997 and became a widely published journalist, photographer, and the inventor of the word “pedelec.” When the first e-mountain bikes appeared on the market, I found the right vehicle to combine and turn my multiple passions into a profession. Together with a specialist team, the vision of going on multi-week e-bike adventures became reality in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America.
We created every single travel project from the very first concept idea to the organization of the trip, riding it myself, documenting it, and sharing the best pictures and stories on stage, offline, and online.
In 15 years of Pedelec Adventures, I’ve been (one of) the first women to travel on pedelecs, showing the world what’s possible on such a bike. I’ve produced images that were more than senior couples in front of green landscapes, as was common in the e-bike marketing of the early days. And I’ve given the industry a new word for a new species of bikes. This initial mission is accomplished.
And I am on fire with a new vision that will allow me to open ever new horizons — and for you to actually come with me. Stay tuned! And meanwhile, sign up for my newsletter below to receive the latest news!

In 2013, the adventurers went on a 4,000-km challenge through Iceland's northern beauty. This one-month trip was followed by the Berlin Trefected project showing that the adventure can start rigth at your doorstep, any day.
With the Climate Ride from Glasgow Paris for the COP 21 Conference, I have given my work another dimension as I joined forces with the Scottish charity, The Purple Heart Network, to raise awareness of climate change.
The epic 5,000-km, 10-week „Sand to Snow“ traverse of Western USA with its stunning landscapes and extreme contrasts was meant to inspire people in the USA as a just evolving market for electric bikes about the benefits of this new two-wheel category.
When I partnered with Silvio of RoughRoad Global Services in 2019, the 5-year project „E-Traction – The Trip“ was born. It combined mobile living and traveling on pedelecs on a new scale and highlighted in a 20,000-kilometer trip to explore the Arabic Peninsula in the winter of 2023/24. This journey invited me to take a deep look into my own mirror …
